The story: I sit in front of my computer a lot. My work is computer
related and some of my hobbies are computer related. My wife suggested
that I find a hobby that was not computer related. We were learning
about Washington State and Oregon wines and wineries and food pairings,
and were becoming very interested exploring the possibilities of
good food and wine. I decided to learn more about food, wine, and flavor
by creating my own menus with wine pairings and hosting plated dinners
for 8-10 people. You need to be challenged a bit, right? This has become
a thoroughly enjoyable hobby, and it provides a wonderful excuse to
taste the local wines and visit the wineries: I call it research for my
menu planning. We've had several of these dinners since 2009 and they are great fun. We do not have foodie photos for most of the dinners. Just menus for the for them; I was too busy cooking and serving the food to remember to take pictures. |
